History: Chelsea Modular Homes Inc. is located in the Town of Marlboro New York and was founded in 1987. The Modular Home Factory was built for the original owners for their own building projects in New York’s Hudson Valley. The founders saw the future of housing and had a dream that they could build “The American Dream” home better and more cost effective inside and under cover in a controlled environment. A 120,000 square foot state of the art building was constructed for the sole purpose of building modular homes. Soon after construction of the facility, outside independent building contractors came knocking at their door to purchase Chelsea Modular Homes Inc. Many local and regional building contractors took advantage of homes built inside, under cover without effects of inclement weather. Supply and distribution is a large part of what the new factory had to deal with. With shipments into twelve states in the northeast and countless regulations to contain with, the original concept grew into a much larger project and operation than first conceived. With many years of building experience the main goal of the company was to build a cost effective home for the customer. Chelsea Modular Homes Inc. niche in the Modular Home Industry was and still is “A Custom Modular Home Builder.”  Many years have now passed since the start of the facility. Chelsea Modular Homes Inc. has produced over 5,500 new homes for Building Contractors and most of all, the retail customer. In 2001, Chelsea Modular Homes Building System LLC. was formed at the factory facility as a model home and building center. This additional venture known as Building Systems was formed to aid and assist builders and retail customers alike with a hands on approach to help and assist all customers with the purchase of a Chelsea Modular Home. To date, CMHBS LLC. has built over 140 new homes for retail customers in the lower Hudson Valley of New York. Our distribution of modular homes from the Building Systems location is somewhat limited to distance as to site fit and finish of the new home for the retail customer. We work with a network of other Model Home Centers and most of all a network of authorized Chelsea Modular Homes Builders and Building Systems contractors in areas of longer distance from the factory location. We will continue to work with all our Model Home Centers, Authorized Builders, Contractors and Developers to bring that “Building the American Dream” and home ownership to the retail customer.
